Our restaurant can be found in a quiet, little cobbled street neighbouring Budapest’s central area. We believe perfect harmony and tranquillity can be found here.
In the heart of Budapest ‘the feverish pace of the city centre renovation’ has reached Cukor Street and it’s surroundings, so we have been fortunate to open our restaurant in a beautifully refurbish ed environment.
History and tradition
This was the site of Hungary’s first vegetarian restaurant. Our aim was to continue to embrace vegetarian cuisine and celebrate traditional Hungarian dishes alongside splendid Mediterranean cooking.
Our master chefs guarantee that you will be swept off your feet by the fragrant herbs, delicious vegetables, rich sauces and succulent meats.
Our perfect ingredients blended together in harmony create a quality of dish, which is second to none.
The atmosphere of Czukor Restaurant will take you back to times gone by, where classical black and white movies are brought back into the limelight. Who couldn’t resist revisiting the ‘timeless’ old movies where the greats of the acting world are once again reunited?
Our restaurant is characterised with a remarkable collection of pictures of old time actors and actresses, a movie projector from 1930 and coins from the korona and pengõ era. Jazz and Swing background music offer an authentic Mediterranean feel.
We have priced our meals and drinks very fairly. We confidently believe that once you have tried us, you will be back for more.
The sports fans amongst us are not forgotten either. Come and join us for live broadcasts of our favourite sports events. Let’s raise a glass together and cheer on our favourite teams.
During the daytime, why not host your business or private meetings here? WI-FI is available free for all our customers.
Join us for lunch and enjoy one of our delicious homemade meals. An extensive wine list is available to accompany your meal.
Furniture made from Water-Lilly compliments our restaurant. Why not relax and recline in our comfortable surroundings, enjoy a cigar and let your mind wander.
Our lunchtime menu runs from 12.00-15.00 for 850 Ft.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is perfect for meeting family or friends or for business events. The Czukor Restaurant has a seating capacity of 30-40 people (or 50-60 standing). Upon request, we will gladly organise buffet events, live music or a program tailored to your specific needs. Films are shown on Sundays for families who would like to accompany their meal with a classic movie from yesteryear. During the afternoons, films suitable for the ‘little ones’ are shown and in the evenings, the film museum’s archive is raided and the very best Hungarian movies are shown.
All food vouchers and major credit cards are accepted.
