The Király Restaurant is located in the Castle District in the immediate proximity of the Vienna Gate, one of Budapest’s most beautiful locations and which is of special cultural-historical significance. The area surrounding the Király is a piece of living history where you can take a pleasant stroll before or after dining. The restaurant is easily accessible by taxi or public transport or even on foot from the nearby hotels. Stairs, paths, narrow little streets lead up to the area.
A discrete and elegant interior, Hollóház porcelain dinner-service and fresh flowers on the tables await our guests.
On our walls you can find the photographs, remarks and autographs of those celebrities who have dined at our restaurant in the past years (Michael Schumacher, Javier Solana, Tony Curtis, Cindy Crawford just to name a few).
The mood in the evenings is enhanced by one of Hungary’s best Gypsy bands, led by Károly Puka. From 9pm our guests can enjoy a dance operetta programme lasting roughly 25 minutes performed by outstanding artists.

We have endeavoured to please those adventurous foreign guests who would like to experience Hungarian dishes, whilst also offering excellent options for those who wish to dine on international cuisine. We have adapted our dishes to the latest culinary trends, alas, not detracting them from their old, familiar character, which they should represent in world gastronomy. We take care to preserve traditions, whilst also modernising and following the spirit of the place and the modern era. The selection of high-quality and healthy basic ingredients is extremely important to us: szürkemarha (grey cattle), mangalica, trout, pike-perch, and Halas goose liver are all ingredients which are welcome in any kitchen of the world. Naturally their presence is only part of the success, and the rest depends on us. We hope that our dishes prepared with the right care and expert hands, combined with high-quality service can make the few hours you spend at our restaurant unforgettable.
Our guests may pay with any credit card. We allow a 5% discount from the total of the bill in the case of cash payment.
