You may find the KOGART House in 5 minutes walk from Heroes’ Square. The House is one of the most beautiful buildings of Classicistic line of mansions on the World Heritage protected Andrássy Avenue. The one-time villa homes high level art exhibitions, fine dining restaurant, cafe and terrace, and as an event house many exclusive events.
The specialty of the KOGART House is that our guests may enjoy the eternal beauty of the displayed works of art as well as the gastronomic specialties and our high level service at the same time.
KOGART Restaurant Cafe
There are only a handful of places in Budapest, where you may dine amongst paintings from János Vaszary, János Mattis Teutsch, László Moholy-Nagy, Valér Ferenczy or Lajos Kassák in an elegant villa next to quiet live jazz music. And that is only the book’s cover. The restaurant is the haunt not only of lovers of the arts but also for gourmand guests. Our dishes provide for all tastes and needs and are prepared by our professional team – in the restaurant at winter-time and on the balcony in the summer. Our sommelier offers the best of more than a hundred different wines to go with your meal and of course “our own” KOGART label wines are also available.
KOGART Exhibitions
The Gábor Kovács Art Foundation organizes four to five large-scale exhibitions a year, which deal with different subjects and periods from the history of Hungarian and international art.
Friends of KOGART
As in any great museum around the world from London to New York, here at KOGART, members can take part in exclusive events just like those of an elegant English club. If you would like to go to places otherwise inaccessible, e.g. storehouses of major museums, restoration workshops, or meet with writers and famous people, then the KOGART Friends is designed especially for you. Cultivated people, food for the soul in an elegant environment – that is what the Friends of KOGART is about.
The membership of the Friends of KOGART is free of charge. After filling the entry form every member receives a personalized KOGART Card. The owner of the card can participate in the programs and get special rates in the KOGART Restaurant and Event House, KOGART Gallery, Education Center, Telki Hospital and Health Center.

In the Current of Impressionism
The exhibition features such giants of Hungarian plein air as Pál Szinyei Merse, László Paál, Mihály Munkácsy and László Mednyánszky. The innovative works of the Nagybánya artist colony, the paintings of the Szolnok school’s artists, and the pictures of József Rippl-Rónai, János Vaszary, István Csók and other outstanding painters will be presented in a new approach.
The exposure is accompanied by a catalogue, with a study by the chief curator, Dr. Anna Szinyei Merse.
