Our restaurant tries to recall the atmosphere of the era after Conciliation, the so called "happy times" period with the help of the pictures on the wall, the served dishes, the clothes of the waiters, so while You visit us, you could feel like our fathers did in those blessed, happy times.
Restaurant Nosztalgia opened its doors on 15. March, 2002. The owner, Péter Fábián, after spending 10 years at Restaurant Szimbád, and after the 5 wonderful years at Restaurant Monarchia, wishes to prove his best to himself, the restaurant business and, as the most important, to all the guests who have been loyal to him throughout the years. It is not an easy task. Gastronomic habits, composition, age and needs of guests changed, many new and excellent restaurants opened.
Restaurant Nosztalgia wishes to meet all expectations, but also wants to cherish the values of traditional Hungarian hospitality. This duality shows in the food offers, as well. While the menu includes the traditional, but modernized Hungarian dishes (potato suop with sausage rings, garlic spiache dish with cream, blackleg chicken in paprika sauce Hungarian dumplings), our weekly offer provides our guests masterpieces of the mediterranian kitchen (fresh salads, fresh salt water fish, rizottos, pastas with spices). We regularly organize wine dinners and jazz evenings, in which regular guest artists are Eszter Váczi and the Szörp music band. The music group of three members, lead by Dezso Salasovics, plays according to this duality every evening, as well, at the beginning they play soft, background-like music, classics, movie hits, musicals, operettes, in the middle of the dinner Hungarian folk songs and gypsy music, while at the end dance music, to which guests usually start to dance to.
