Godot Gallery has been organizing contemporary art exhibitions in its three-storey building in the centre of Budapest.
In preparation for an exhibition, our priority is to consider professional points of view and quality requirements. In our gallery, we give room to young talents at the beginning of their careers, as well as to more mature, renowned artists. Although we have shown all mediums of contemporary art, our exhibitions have mainly focused on traditional genres, such as painting and graphic arts.
Our programme provides regular exhibitions to the artists of the Gallery. In addition, we arrange thematic group shows, and introduce other artists closely fitting into the structure of exhibitions at Godot.
An important element in our exhibition program is a series presenting Private Contemporary Art Collections, by means of which we try to draw attention to the great monetary sacrifice some private Hungarian citizens make in order to found a collection, to collect and exhibit artistic values. (among others: Somlói-Spengler Collection, Antal-Lusztig Collection, Lajos Barabás Collection).
