The WAMP (Hungarian Design Market) was established in 2006 in order to create a community where contemporary design producers can present their resonably-prized products to the general public. The market is held once a month, and by now it has grown to be one of the most important cultural and design forums in Budapest. During the summer months, it is held on Erzsébet square (near Deák square) across from Hotel Kempinski, and in Gödör Club (same park) during the winter period.
In the market, you will find goldsmiths, graphics, textiles, ceramics, glass artists, recycling artisit, toy makers and some items of famous Hungarian galleries. The atmosphere of the market was very new at first in the city, but now it is a much anticipated event.
